  • Where do I get the access credentials for my email account?
    New students receive temporary access credentials from the student administration office (Studierendensekretariat).
    You didn’t receive any credentials? Or your temporary password has expired? Or your email address no longer exists? Then it is important to request a new password as soon as possible by contacting IT at it@hfm-karlsruhe.de!


  • How do I log in to my email account for the first time?
    Once you have valid credentials, reset your password using the following link:
    https://id.academiccloud.de

    After that, you can access your emails via the following link:
    https://mail.ox.gwdg.de
    It can be worth saving or bookmarking this link exactly in this format 🙂


  • Where can I read my emails and send emails myself?
    You can do this in your browser using the following link:

  • How can I adjust my first and last names?
    In the web interface, you can easily do this by clicking on the profile icon in the top right corner of the menu bar – there you can edit your first or last name under “persönliche Daten bearbeiten”.


  • I do not want my second or third first name to be displayed publicly. How can I change that?
    In the web interface, you can easily do this by clicking on the profile icon in the top right corner of the menu bar – there you can adjust your first names under “persönliche Daten bearbeiten”.


  • How can I access my account through an email client (Thunderbird, Outlook, …)?
